We are waiting for the flowers to bloom, and hope to open towards the end of July 2020!
We are generally open Tuesday - Friday, 11am to 5.30pm, and Saturday & Sunday 10am to 5.30pm , we are closed on Mondays apart from Bank Holidays. For real time information, including when we have to close due to lack of flowers or adverse weather, please follow our Facebook page.
Our sunflower field is located right beside the road about 2 miles from Chelmsford city centre, just off the mini-roundabout between the A1060 and Lordship Road. For sat navs use CM1 3RY.
Please remember that the sunflower patch is part of a working farm and as such facilities are very basic - we do not have any toilets
Expect uneven ground and dress for the weather!
We have off-road parking for several vehicles on site.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept under control and don’t disturb other visitors, and you clean up after them! Please bear in mind we are next to a busy road and have no fence.
This is a no smoking and no vaping site.
We are sorry but we do not allow people to wander in the sunflower field and cut their own flowers. The stalks left when flowers are cut are incredibly sharp and we wouldn't want anyone to hurt themselves. However, we do have a patch of pick-your-own flowers including zinnia, larkspur and cornflowers.
For photography enquiries please see our related page. We are always happy for people to take a few phone snaps whilst buying flowers, but anything more professional needs to be pre-booked.
Flowers will be priced slightly differently this year to avoid the need to handle too much change, and we will be encouraging contactless payment for the first time! Sunflowers are picked fresh from the field for you and will be £5 for a bunch of five flowers, £10 for a bunch of ten. Smaller flowers will be PYO and £5 a bunch. All flowers are subject to availability.
Grown here, not flown here - and not a plastic wrapper in sight
